Welcome to our Website.

As Churches we aim to be at the heart of the community participating in all aspects of the life here. From within the community we reach out and engage with the whole of God's world. In our Services we welcome all ages in Church. We meet together as the people of God.

  STOP PRESS

Great Gransden church tower was broken into between Friday morning 9th and Sunday morning 11th August. The intruders forced the turret door and smashed an access door to get to the tower roof. The ringing room, clock room and belfry were not accessed.

We guess they were doing a reconnoitre on the lead roofs ready for a future attack. We have reported it to the police.

The break in probably took place on Friday 9th August as all was locked up the night before after bellringing practice, but an item was discovered missing from the church Saturday morning. If you saw anything suspicious in the vicinity of the church on Friday or indeed visited the building please contact Rev Rachel or Rob Chignell (Churchwarden): please continue to be cautious and vigillant around our churches and report any suspicious activity to the police on 101.

We will be keeping the church locked for the time being as we take some further precautions, but please contact Rev Rachel or Rob if you need to get in for cleaning, flowers etc.

GREAT GRANSDEN

ST BARTHOLOMEW GREAT GRANSDEN QUINQUENNIAL REPAIRS

At the last Quinquennial inspection in 2016 the architect recommended repairs to external stonework, window surrounds and rainwater goods.  These repairs were classed as urgent needing to be completed within 3 years and will cost in the region of £35,000.  We are half way to our fund raising target using PCC reserves and pledged grant aid (Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust, Poor Lands Charity, Clare College, Cambridge, Jack Patston Trust). Further grant applications are in progress.

We now need your help to meet the shortfall.  Please visit our Just Giving Fund Raising Page
or contact our Treasurer Andrew Fogg.
